The BMW Innovative Product Pitch Contest has a $500 GRAND PRIZE

 Put your innovation and entrepreneurship skills to the test by conceiving and pitching a new product concept for BMW. 

 Success will depend on your ability to respond to specific product elements sought by BMW, to understand the brand and the customer, to apply your creativity and design capabilities, to forecast market interest in your concept, to develop a marketing strategy, and to effectively communicate your plan to a panel of judges in as little as 5 minutes.

 Contest Guidelines:  Up to 6 teams may enter, first come first served. Each team may have 4-6 students from Santa Clara University. At least 50% of the team must be students currently enrolled in the School of Engineering. At least 50% of the team must be currently enrolled undergraduate students.  At least one team member must be currently enrolled in a school other than the School of Engineering.

 Contest Schedule:

·         Tuesday, February 17, 2009, 6:00 pm.  Kick-off Briefing with BMW.  This briefing will describe the specific product challenge and will be presented by BMW engineers responsible for identifying new product concepts for future BMW automobiles.  Briefing will be held in conjunction with a School of Engineering Mentoring Program reception at NASA Ames Research Center, in the CREST facility.

·         Wednesday, February 18, 2009, 4:00 pm. Team Presentations.  Presentations will be given as part of a graduate seminar series held in EC326.  Presentation guidelines will be provided at the Kick-off meeting.  Judging will occur by a panel of BMW engineers, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists.

·         Thursday, February 19, 2009, 7:00 pm.  Award Presentation.  The $500 prize will be announced and presented as part of the School of Engineering Faculty Awards Event, to be held in the Multipurpose Room.
